Why are you a Christian? If you are like most people, the answer is "because of my mother." It is impossible to overestimate the influence of a mother; for good or ill. Let's look at that this Mother's Day Sunday. Our scripture is  2 Timothy 1:1-7

PLEASE JOIN US IN THESE UPCOMING CHURCH EVENTS

 MOTHER'S DAY FLOWERS:  The youth invite you to join them again in honoring our mothers this Mother's Day. Flowers will be available before each service to wear in memory or in honor of your mother. We will have red to honor those mothers who are still with us and white to honor the memory of those who have passed away. There is no charge for the flowers, but the youth will be accepting donations to go towards their Mission Trip.

KNITTING MINISTRY ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY---                    "PILLOW TALK" will be Thursday June 7th at 11:30am in the Beasley Center. Tickets are $15.00. Tickets are available Monday, May 14. Our speaker will be Rushan Smyth, founder of Peniel Pillows who will be sharing her story and inspiration for these beautiful designs. The knitters will be preparing the food. Door prizes will be added to the fun.

Vacation Bible School is right around the corner, June 11-15. This year's theme is SKY, Everything is possible with God!             More info to come!!



CAMP SUMATANGA----Week 5; July 15-20 for elementary and junior high camps!!

SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES

CONNECT IN FAITH WITH THE WINTER 2012 BIBLE STUDIES

Monday Morning Bible Study--Led by Carol Foret, begins April 16th at 10:00am in the Anderson Classroom. "Pursuing God's Beauty--a study of the Gospel of John" by Margaret Feinberg. Books are available at Pablo's. This is a four week study, which we will see breath-taking portraits of salvation, redemption, and restoration. We will explore the entire Gospel of John and what is means to celebrate and radiate the heart of Christ in our own lives.

Thursday Morning Bible Study--Led by Lib Brett. This women's study meets each Thursday in the Beasley Center Parlor at 9:30am. One of the most meaningful missions of this group is the countless numbers of letters that are signed by each member and sent to those who need a spiritual lift. A warm and welcoming fellowship for the ladies in our church and community.

3B's--Brown Bag Bible Study--Led by Cathy Brett. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at noon on the campus of Athens State, all ladies are welcome.The current Bible study is "Mastering Our Passions" from the Fruit of the Spirit series. Bring your lunch or by it at the college.

Motherhood Group--Led by Elizabeth McClary and Laura Tarokh. A wonderful opportunity for our young mothers to fellowship, share, and grow in their faith. "The Power of a Positive Mom" is this year's study. This study will meet in the Cartwright Prayer Room on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 9:00am. A nursery is provided.
